Lotz Lodge Naming Opportunity

The Heart of What We Do

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes and YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly have partnered for more than 55 years. FCA’s value of creating relationships that demonstrate steadfast commitment to Christ and His word align beautifully with YMCA Blue Ridge’s belief that faith, open dialogue, caring and respect need to be reinforced in today’s world. Together, we know the impact of FCA camps at YMCA Blue Ridge is deeply spiritual and transformational. Our organizations align in dedication to nurturing youth to become the leaders of tomorrow. To continue this purpose, we need to dig down even deeper to remain powerful and true to our shared vision.

The Legacy of Danny Lotz

The potential Lotz Lodge, which will be named for longtime friend of FCA and Hall of Champions inductee Danny Lotz, will meet the need for FCA coaches. It was the vision of Danny and his wife Anne Graham to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes, and it will be the honor of YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly and FCA to erect the lodge in his name. The lodge’s purpose will be to provide a space where FCA coaches and their families can stay for rest and fellowship while ministering and mentoring to the athletes they serve.

Lotz Lodge Opportunity

The potential Lotz Lodge will have 2 stories, with the main floor featuring 8 bedrooms, 7 full bathrooms and a half bath, and an open floorplan with a full kitchen, living and dining areas flowing together. The lodge’s lower level will feature 8 additional bedrooms, 7 full bathrooms and a half bath, a kitchenette, and a gathering space which may be used for meetings, community, and fellowship. The lodge will have 40 beds and sleep 54 people.

Meeting the Need for Families

The mission of FCA is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. To accomplish this, FCA ministers first to coaches’ hearts, marriages and families. Pouring into and strengthening the faith of our leaders is what equips them to minister to their fellow coaches, teams and athletes – and to cultivate leaders.  YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly and FCA share the essential value of nurturing families first, as they are the foundation from which healthy, well-developed young people are molded. YMCA Blue Ridge’s Cabin Village Initiative will be a space that serves and cultivates the specific needs of FCA coaches and their families. These beautiful new cabins and lodges will provide comfort and community that can serve families of all sizes, from a single-family unit to a multigenerational reunion. Cabin Village seeks to create facilities that will provide both the physical and spiritual space for growth, engagement, and empowerment.
