Achieve On Our Challenge Courses

YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly has one of the largest and most comprehensive challenge course facilities in the country, featuring eight different low ropes and high ropes climbing facilities.  

Challenge courses are an interactive tool that can have a range of focuses: promoting physical activity, developing trust, and encouraging communication to bring your group closer together, or it can be purely for recreation, fun and laughter.

CAMP COUSINS CHALLENGE COURSES
provide guests with fun and lasting memories in the great outdoors. There are five different high ropes adventures to choose from:

Alpine Tower

Fifty foot tower with over nine challenging ascent routes. Good for individual climbs with team support.
Sessions: 3 hours
Ages: 4 - Adult

Participants: 18 - 45


Carolina Straight Wall

Fifty-foot vertical climbing wall offering six access routes over varying angles. Best for individual climbs with team support.
Sessions: 3 hours
Ages: 4 - Adult



Diamond Extension Course

Linear High Ropes Course (40’) offering ten elements for individual or partner-oriented challenges.
Sessions: 4 hours
Ages: Middle School - Adult

Participants: 16 - 30



Giant Swing

An exhilarating “free-fall” experience. The team pulls and the individual releases and swings through the air from up to 30 feet.
Sessions: 3 hours
Ages: 7 - Adult

Participants: 10 - 30


WATTS FAMILY ODYSSEY COURSE

Offers a great opportunity for large groups wishing to participate simultaneously in a high ropes course.


 

Odyssey Course

Dual Level (22’ & 33’) linear high ropes course offering six elements, including a zipline, for teams of two and eight.
Sessions: 3 hours
Ages:
Middle School - Adult
Participants: 24 - 60*

*Larger groups can be accommodated with a longer session or by experiencing just one level of the course.

HARRY BRACE INDOOR CHALLENGE COURSE
allows for adventure climbing in a sheltered space.

Indoor Climbing Wall

Recreational climbing wall offering seventeen routes, good for individual climbs with team support.
Sessions: 3 hours
Ages: 4 - Adult

TEAM DEVELOPMENT COURSES

allow for participants to challenge themselves and work together with fun and challenging activities on the ground.

Solve mental and physical problems using slightly-elevated cables, platforms, ropes and wooden beams.
